Members and over 40 children in Halloween themed fancy dress enjoyed a spooky evening at the club last Friday. The clubroom was transformed into a sinister grotto decorated with bats, skeletons, spiders and all manner of macabre paraphernalia. As is the tradition with this club event everyone brought a plate of food to share which ensured the little (and large) creatures did not go hungry! Music and games were organised including apple bobbing and the ever popular pass the pumpkin. There were competitions for pumpkin carving and best fancy dress worn by both adults and children. The photo illustrated shows Commodore Kathy Calydon with some of the prize-winners. Thanks are due to Ali Ashworth and Celia Rushton together with their team of helpers for organising this yearÄôs event. A great deal of work and imagination went into hand making the decorations and setting up the club room for the party all of which all had to packed away again the next morning. Just to remind members who enjoyed the evening (or who missed out) that we will be hosting our every popular New Year Eve party again this year, providing you and your family another chance to dress up and bring food to share. Music for the evening will be supplied by our own legendary DJ Mr Steve Dadd.
