Ive been going for 2 weeks so far and have made it as far as Milford Haven after a rough 34 hour passage from St Ives via Padstow. It was a fantastic passage with dolphins, puffins, and seals but also strong winds. I will now have to wait here in Milford Haven while a couple gales pass through.

The highlights of the trip so far have been steaming around the Lizard with 3 knots of tide pushing us through and then anchoring in the shadow of St Michaels Mount. We spent a day on anchor there with Nutcracker and explored the castle, before heading over to Newlyn in the evening. The next day we made it over to the Scillies where I kept having to remind myself I was still in the UK. The water was turquoise and full of life. We saw Bottlenose and Rissos dolphins, and many many seals! We stayed one night off Tresco where we just drove in until we touched the bottom with our bilge keels and then dropped the anchor. It was indistinguishable from a tropical islands in the pacific.

The only major mishap has been blowing the spinnaker on the crossing to the Scillies, where we were having too much fun going at 7 knots and kept it up a bit too long! I dropped it at a sailmaker in the Scillies who had it restitched before our passage back across to St Ives. An expensive mistake!

Next will be going across Cardigan bay to Holyhead, hopefully departing Saturday.
