It was encouraging to see so many members at the Open Forum on dinghy recovery and mark-laying. There was plenty of interaction and food for thought. Feedback was positive and out of it came a number of points to action.1. It has been clarified that muster time for safety crew should be 1hr 30m before race start to give the whole race team a bit more time. This will be updated on the auto emails sent out to the safety crews.2. Paul Lloyd confirmed that members who volunteer for safety crew need only hold a PB2 certificate.3. Paul Burger (RYA Training Principal) has updated the Training Page on the club website and includes links to the mark-laying notes.Euan McNair touched on 'Cold Water Shock' during his dinghy recovery talk and some may have seen a article on the BBC of a recent incident where a yacht sank leaving the lone sailor struggling in the water off Whitsand Bay for 20 minutes with no life jacket. A reminder that all are vulnerable on the water, not just dinghies. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-cornwall-65138289Again thanks all round and also to Ali for providing bar facilities.
