'Fish and Ships' in Alderney, 13th- 14th September

For members who enjoyed the hospitality of YCC at St Martin's Bay in June, or for anyone who fancies a great weekend's sailing, their famous Alderney rally (80 boats last year!) will take place on the weekend of the 13th/14th September, and we are cordially invited to share in this event.Boats will leave Cherbourg at 1330 local time on Saturday to take the ebb up to Alderney; a drink in the Sailing Club will be followed by an excellent fish and chip supper with free pint at the 'Harbour Lights', where there will also be a band. The return trip to Cherbourg leaves at 0930 on Sunday morning, with a drink in the Yacht Club bar to round off the weekend.As this is a big event we will need to book, and I would need to know how many people intend to go by the 7th September. There is the option of going to Cherbourg first, or the easier option of going straight to Alderney on the Saturday Äì we might even have our own race there and back! It woould be interesting to see how many boats we can crew up for an 'end of season' cross-Channel jolly. Let me know if you are interested.Steve FraserCruiser Class Captain
