Cruising to Ringstead Goes Ahead Despite Races Cancelled

Although the annual Ringstead races and BBQ were cancelled on August B/H Sunday, there was still a healthy fleet of cruising boats making the trip across the bay. In a moderate South Easterly wind Double Vision, Merlot, Winters Maid, Solveig, Xanadu, Growling Cougar, Tilted and Moonshadow all had a cracking sail, whilst an ungainly looking mastless Crystella (waiting for new standing rigging before you ask!) rock and rolled to the anchorage under engine.

White Nothe gave partial protection to Ringstead's Burning Cliff anchorage, however there was still some swell and some fierce gusts that gave some skippers the jitters about leaving their boats unattended. Several people went for a swim and only the Tilted crew landed on the beach for a BBQ, others had a picnic on board.

Forgotten something Crystella !
Boats took the run downwind home at their leisure, a good day out was had by all and another success for the cruising section.
